I think it will be good. It gives a different perspective since it is from Edward's point-of-view. It develops his character more and lets the reader see what is going on in his mind and what he does while he is away from Bella.

There is a link on Stephenie Meyer's webpage that has a working draft of a few chapter of Midnight Sun. I found them very interesting and am looking forward to reading the published book.

Sometimes, when we have expectations that are too high, we find ourselves disappointed.  By the same token, sometimes sequels and related books that follow a huge success are also let-downs.

I read the first book and then watched themovie with my neice.  We were both disappointed with the film...they just are never as good as the book.

So, my opinion regarding your question is this:  take each work for its own merit and don't judge by the books that came before it or the movies.

I do not think it will be quite as thrilling as Twilight since we already know the story, but I think it will be interesting to see things from Edward's point of view, and if Stephanie Meyer is able to, perhaps that shift in perspective will be exciting enough to keep her readers, not just Twilight fanatics, satisfied.

Can I just say that i have recently read all of Stephanie Meyer's books and they are one of the best fantasy series i have ever read, they kept me enthralled the whole time.  I have recently read the couple of chapters she has posted on her site for Midnight sun and I would say without a doubt that they compliment the first book 'Twighlight'  I loved to read Edwards version, it somehow makes it all complete.  It kills me that she will now be postponing this book due to an asshole who has put her book out before its time and unfinished.

I think we'll all read it and buy it just because everyone wants more Edward! I am interested to read the familiar scenes from Edward's point of view, because we don't get a lot of what goes on in his mind and what he thinks in the Twilight series. I also think it is a great writing exercise, to write from another character's perspective. This book could have some educational merit from a writer's perspective. It will be interesting to see how the story changes told in a different point of view. Sometimes a story told from a varying point of view can make or break a book.

I personally love Edward :)

I think Midnight Sun would be interesting, because we can see how much he loved Bella in the beginning, and the sort of issues he had to go through to resist her blood. From what I've read from the draft, I think is amazing and sweet :) haha can't wait for more.

And whether or not it is better then Twilight is just opinion really...I mean same goes for no one can judge which Twilight book is the best by FACT.

I read the manuscript of Breaking Dawn on Stephanie Meyer's website and omg, it is so interesting. I think it will be better than Twilight. But thats my opinion. But if you want to read the manuscript go to:

I love twilight however i think midnight sun will in a way complete it. Edward is such an interesting character not to mention a huge factor in the series yet we know so little from him as an individual. Sure we read descriptions and keep up with dialogue, but being able to really read what is going on is very interesting.

Plus I love the fact that he can read minds, so the entire time you learn so much from everyone.

I'm definitely looking forward to Midnight Sun. In fact, anything that expands on the Twilight series would make me happy right now. I don't want it to be over, and as a fan, I will accept any new material.
