Antonio is the sea captain who rescues Sebastian and is more of a full-fledged character than Viola's twin, Sebastian. Antonio is a helping character who demonstrates the Christian quality of placing his own life in jeopardy for the sake of his friend. He becomes Sebastian's devoted friend after rescuing him from a shipwreck.
