The title poem of the book Here, Bullet is very visceral. It ends with him challenging the bullet to "finish" what it started and tells the reader, "here is where the world ends, every time." http://www.alicejamesbooks.org/turner_poem.html I read this with my class, and they really enjoyed the anger and despair in the poem. Is anyone else teaching his more violent poetry, and what do the kids, parents, or administrators think of doing these sorts of modern/controversal poems. Posted by jlcannad on Mar 13, 2008. |

There's a lot in this poem, Here, Bullet. to compare to Rimbaud's poem, Marine, which was the first published verse libre poem. Posted by crazycloud on Mar 13, 2008. |
