WHAT IS ITS MISSION?
According to the organization, "the mission of the National Coalition for the Homeless (NCH) is to end homelessness. Toward this end, the NCH engages in public education, policy advocacy, and grassroots organizing." Homelessness is a problem that has grown in the United States during the late twentieth century. Many factors contribute to the phenomenon, including lack of affordable housing, inadequate transitional facilities or support services for the mentally ill, and a minimum wage that makes it hard to afford decent living conditions.
