Accreditation status

Herguan University is not accredited by any recognized accreditation organization.[1] The California Department of Consumer Affairs' Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education has approved the MBA, MSCS and MSEE programs. [2]. The Oregon Office of Degree Authorization states that Herguan University is not authorized to offer degrees in the state of Oregon.[3].

Academic practices

The enrollment practices of Herguan have been compared to the recently closed Tri-Valley University. The Chronicle of Higher Education states that Herguan, like Tri-Valley, enrolls Indian students who are interested in working full-time in "internships."[4]
