They sit in the back of the court room where most of the African American population of the town sat.

They sit nearest to Reverend Sykes, who is the pastor of Calpurnia's church, First Purchase. The black people move to allow Jem, Scout and Dill places to sit, and it also offers the children protection from being seen by Atticus.

THe kids end up sitting with the black folks. The kids are last in the coart because they dont want Attticus to see them.
