My favorite topic is the relationship between the children and Boo, and how the children begin to see him as a real person rather than a mythical character to be afraid of.

As was already noted, there are lots of essay starters in that section of the enote on this book. However, if I had to suggest one, I'd start from two directions: what matters most to you, and what the assignment needs to be. In other words, start from the inside and the outside.


I find it hard to do the right thing, even when I know what it is, so I would be most interested in analyzing the sources of ethical action in the novel. What makes Atticus, Scout, Boo, etc., do the right thing? How can we learn from them?
