The Time Machine Group
Question:
Why was the time traveller so curious to test the machine without waiting for his guests?
I mean that when he came home all dirty, he first took a bath and etc. But his guest wanted him to test the machine in front of them. Why did he test it without them? I think it is because of his curiosity! First he did not want to test it. But after curiosty prevented him.

The Time Traveler builds the machine specifically to leave his time period 1899. He is looking for a world where there is no violence, no war, he is looking for Utopia. That is his motivation for using the machine without anyone present in his lab.
The Time Traveler has invited his guests specifically to dinner, so that he can have them together so he can tell his story. They are told to wait only so long for him, but to start dinner without him. As he stumbles into the dining room, dirty and exhausted, they are shocked to see him.
When he returns, he is eager to get cleaned up and have a meal, then he tells his story, knowing that his guests probably won't believe him. Really, they don't believe him, it is only Filby who actually believes him in the end.
