When they arrive there, it turns out that each of the quests has been invited because they have committed a terrible crime and have managed to get away without being punished for that crime. Dr. Edward Armstrong is one of these guests. His crime was to cause the death of a patient by operating on her while he was drunk. Like all the other guests, Armstrong dies on the island. Armstrong dies by being thrown into the ocean from a cliff.
