Because they are actively working in criminal investigations or other sensitive areas, some advisors and contributors requested the release of a minimum of personal and/or affiliation information.
When the only verifiable or attributable source of information for an entry comes from documents or information provided by a governmental organization (e.g., the U.S. Department of State), the editors endeavored to carefully note when the language used and perspective offered was that of a governmental organization.
As publishing deadlines loomed, Terrorism: Essential Primary Sources was well served by a research staff dedicated to incorporating the latest relevant events prior to publication deadlines—especially information related to bombings in London during July 2005. The editors wish to thank Mr. Lee Wilmoth Lerner for his IT and engineering assistance that facilitated efficient communications and information exchange among a multi-platform, multi-lingual global group of scholars, researchers, and writers.
The editors gratefully acknowledge and extend thanks to Mr. Peter Gareffa and Ms. Carol Nagel at Thomson Gale for their faith in the project and for their sound content advice. The tenacious work of Thomson Gale copyright research staff, literally right up to publication deadlines, made this book possible. The editors also wish to acknowledge the contributions of the Thomson Gale Imaging Team, Ms. Amanda Wilmoth Lerner, and Ms. Marcia Schiff at the Associated Press for their help in securing images. Most directly, the editors wish to acknowledge and thank the Thomson Gale Project Editor, Mr. Dwayne Hayes, for his steady, experienced, and reassuring oversight of both content and technical matters.
