What happens to Ariel in "The Tempest"?

what does he learn, how does the character changeĀ  how does the character change in awareness wisdom and action by the end of the play and what does shakespere want us to learn from this.

    Ariel's primary changes in the play are emotional and situational. That is to say, there is not much evidence of Ariel learning. Rather, at the start of the play, Ariel is Prospero's servant. Ariel serves with more or less good will, but continually pressures Prospero to remember his promise and release it (Ariel) from servitude. At the end of the play, Prospero releases Ariel.
