Some translators of the modern english have wrongly interpreted the meaning of the word VIOLATE in the lines 345 to 348 [prospero] [Act I scII] as rape.  Word violate has many meanings apart from RAPE.  Here the meaning must be taken as ATTACK.  every attack need not be fruitful for some attacks are repelled by the victim and at times such attacks are repelled with some outside help.  Here presumably prospero arrives at the same moment and saves miranda.  To convince you let me type the summary of the lines from 345 to 350 of the Act I and scII.

lines 345 to 348 [Prospero] "You are the most  lying slave whom only floggings can move not kindness.  Though you are a filthy man I treated you with humane care and lodged you in my own cottage till you attacked the modesty of my child.

lines 349 to 350 [Caliban]: oho, oho, I would have done that but you prevented me.  If had you not prevented me I would have filled this island with Calibans[i.e. his children].

NOW read carefully "IF YOU HAD NOT PREVENTED ME....ETC".

The rape was prevented by Prospero who came at the right moment the Rape did not take place.  Who taught you that the rape had taken place? if it had not taken place where is the question of whether miranda had put this in the know of Ferdinand or not.

Your second question about the existence of Sycorax is too imaginary and logically thinking it is out of question.

    God bless you.
