Teen Drug Abuse | Drugs in School
The issue of drugs in schools is as vital today as it was in 1986 when President Ronald Reagan signed the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act, now called the Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act. This act provides federal funds to schools to institute antidrug programs. When drugs invade a community, they quickly trickle down to the teenagers and into the schools. According to CASA, 72 percent of teens ages fifteen to seventeen say their high schools are most certainly not drug-free.
