Hello Urzula,

There is definitely a learning curve.  Moodle has a great number of features and capabilities, although, because it is opensource, it can be a bit cumbersome (many steps in uploading, making changes, etc)

My suggestion is to develop all of your content first:

  1. Course outline
  2. Syllabus
  3. Objectives/Expectations
  4. All Content , quizzes, etc
  5. Any web links, videos, etc.

and then get some help your first few times navigating the technology.

It is  wonderful learning platform and students love it!

I started with Blackboard back in 2002 with a community college and then with a client (we were developing on-line training materials in cross-cultural communications)

There are advantages and disadvantages to both applications. I am finding that Moodle appeals more to Gen. Y.

We use the PLATO PLE lab, which also has curricula set in place. All I do is add the students and assign them a course. Then I choose assignments from the drop down menu. They complete them at home and I can even check their progress online. They take their tests in the school lab.
