My Gift to Teachers

Back in 2005 I wrote a workbook (Grammar to Go for Business English) for our commercial college business English classes.  I no longer work for the college and still own the rights to the book.  It centers on grammar and business writing.  I would be more than happy to give anyone some pages of exercises in any topic needed--no cost.  I just don't want my work to go to waste.

I have pages of subject verb search; participial phrases; gerunds and prepostional phrase; agreement and proofreading--you name it.  I also have examples of business letters for remittances, complaints, resumes, and cover letters.  If you are interested in any of the exercises, just drop me a note: npdckrsn@aol.com and let me know what you want.

I believe this is going to be a good area for an exchange of ideas.  I just wish e-notes had a question area for students questions in grammar.

What a wonderful--and very much needed--gift. Thank you so much for offering your work to us. Would you be willing to make those pages available on the eNotes Document Exchange? It's very easy to upload material to that site. The link for the site is at the top of this page. Or you can click here:

I agree that we need a group for grammar questions. Maybe eNotes will create one for us!

Thanks again!!

I put some on the document exchange.  Let me know if they are of use to you or if there are other kinds you would like to see or use.

Thank you so much for offering your resources to other teachers.  This is the way of 21st century learning and teaching, where students and teachers can exchange ideas and tools.  This website is the ultimate educational tool!

You are most welcome.  If you have a particular area of need in grammar, please let me know and I will see if I can give you what you need.

Wow!  This is great!  I teach in a rural area and most of my students will go to work for their parents or take over the family farm.  Not many of them have aspirations for higher education, and it is wonderful to have access to easier-to-understand grammar lessons.

I look forward to seeing the book and all the exercises on the Document Exchange.

Thank you so much for your generous donation and for the hours of work you put into this project!

Thanks so much for your generosity and kindness in sharing all of your hard work. It is very unusual in my experience to find teachers who are willing to share their hard work and effort with others. Many teachers starting out really have to re-make the wheel as they work out how to teach topics, so your resources are going to be a real asset to a number of teachers, I am sure. Thanks again!

Other teachers have always been my greatest source of inspiration and resources. Your work, which you have offered free of charge, makes it easier for those of us who teach becaquse we don't have to use our own finincial resources or nonexistent classroom funds to purchase it. Thank  you for sharing.

It is very important for students to understand the needs of writing in business.  I actually was at a car dealership this weekend and when the salesman found out I was an English teacher he asked me if it was too late to learn punctuation rules.  He said that with e-mail so prevalent now everyone's writing is there for the world to see.  Food for thought!

Did you upload your workbook to the document exchange?
