Does anyone teach 11th gd. Am.Hist. and use the text, "The Americans: Reconstuction to the 21st century and have a test for Ch. 20?
I am new to teaching and this is my first chapter to teach (Ch 20). I have to make up the test but have no idea where to start. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

I'm a big believer in making tests that are based on what you taught and what you think is most important about the material covered.
So, if you have already taught the chapter and now need a test, go back and look at what the points are that you have covered. For things that you assigned them to read, look at what points you think are most important.
From there, you need to decide what kind of test you want to make. Are you doing multiple choice? Short answer? Essay?
As far as specific help goes, surely your text's website has some resources for you. You might be able to find sample questions there that you can adapt for your own use.
I imagine that this will get moved to the discussion section. When it is, maybe you can post more specific questions -- ask us about whether some question is good or not, that sort of thing.
I hope we can help -- it's always daunting to be starting out on something new!
