    Hagar's father, Jason is one of the elite. He was a store owner, and built a brick home in a town of mostly shacks and shanties. Hagar fell out of favor with her father when she married beneath her, but she still uses her education to boast her proper language skills, and her haughty attitude. Bramford, her husband represents the uneducated, unrealistic working class. He has big dreams to get rich, yet does not possess the ability to make them happen. Lottie is the lowest class. Born out of wedlock, the community never forgets that she was a "no name".
