People use it for many reasons...to escape reality, addiction, etc. Religion can also be an escape and high for people. It can provide an escape from reality in that people turn to it to escape troubled times and to find hope, etc. Music is also an escape and a way to forget troubled times. For Sonny, music provides the opportunity for him to forget about his many problems. Playing his music provides Sonny the time to escape his problems; he feels confident, peaceful, and satisfied when engrossed in it. Unfortunately, there is no good outcome for heroin users. It only leads to destruction. Religion and music, however, can be helpful to people.
