Do you mean Shakespeare's sonnet? If not, who is the author? According to poets.org, a volta is a characteristic of an Italian, or Petrarchan, sonnet. The structure is 8 lines with an ABBAABBA rhyme scheme, followed by 6 lines with a CDECDE, CDCCDC, or CDEDCE rhyme scheme (info from poets.org). Shakespeare's Sonnet 50 is an English (or Shakespearian) sonnet. It is composed of 3 quatrains and 1 couplet, with an ABAB CDCD EFEF GG rhyme scheme (info from me).
