Dreams rarely can be taken literally.  Death in dreams usually represents change as in one part of your life is "dying" and a new is beginning.  It can also mean you are worried or anxious about the new change.  Perhaps you are worried about whether you should really buy the new car or being able to pay for it?  A large purchase such as a new car is a big change and you dream probably represents any anxiety you may be having about the purchase.
