How is the attitude of the BMA qualified in the last paragraph?

We are talking about the fictional text, "Doctors reject right to choose babies' gender - The BMA in Torquay decides sex selection on social or legal grounds is unethical".
The last paragraph is: "However, the association reasserted its support for advanced directives, so-called "living wills", in which patients may instruct doctors to withdraw treatment under specified conditions."
