    High School - 9th Grade

    Although the slave dancer won some prizes, it was sometimes criticized because the point of view is from a white boy. People say that to express the abuse of slaves more clearly, the author must place her point of view to one of the slaves in the ship.

    I agree that in Jessie's point of view, the abuse of slaves did not clearly show out to the readers. However, it creates a special and different, extraordinary feeling than the other books about slaves
