Sir Gawain and the Green Knight Group
Question:
Is the descriptive deatail used in the poem static? or is something happening all the time with the descritiption?
In this poem, there is a huge use of descriptive detail such as the festivity at Arthur's court; the elaborate clothing and arming of Gawain for the journey etc... Could they be a difference with the spontaneous interest of the 14th century listener and the 20th century-reader?
