Anything else besides the obvious, that he defends the poor and is a brave warrior. Posted by temi07 on Mar 5, 2009. |
Sir Gawain and the Green Knight Group
2 |
Sir Gawain is a loyal knight. He could easily not show up a year later, but he goes in search of the Green Knight. Then when he is caught at the end lying about the magical sash, he tells the Green Knight that he'll wear it as a sign of his shame. That is loyalty. Beowulf is very loyal, too. There are many examples, but the most obvious one is when he faces the dragon. He is alone--until Wiglaf joins him--and he fights until his death. He will not back down. That is his loyalty to his men and kingdom. Both of these heroes are loyal men. Posted by troutmiller on Mar 5, 2009. |
