“IT’S HIGH TIME”
“IT’S HIGH TIME,” says Antipholus of Syracuse in The Comedy of Errors (Act 3, scene 2), but the phrase appears in the 1393 edition of Langland’s Piers Plowman and is used in its current metaphorical sense by 1581.
