in sense and sensibility austen tries to show the differance betweem sense and sensibility through her characters Elinor who represent sense and Marianne who represent sensebililty .Elinor is rational,self-control,good judgment and careful. while Marianne is carelessness, reckless, strong emotion, imprudent and implusive. there are many differance between them. in love Elinor loves edward but she does not appear her love because she doesnot sure if he love her or not and when Edward departed from her ,she does not appear any thing in order not to cause pain or suffer to other people. Marianne is irrational, implusive, reckless, passionate and imprudent . Marinne loves willoughby and appears all her passion . When he departed from her she wants all her family to suffer as she suffer. All this show Marianne selfishness.
