In chapter 25 of "The Sea-Wolf" Larsen gets even with his brother, Death Larsen, by laying a trap for his "hunters."  He  manages to not only capture his brother's hunting boats, but he also captures the hunters.  He escapes from his brother's ship by sailing into the fog just before his brother's ship catches up to the Ghost.  After Larsen and his men have captured the hunting boats and the hunters, as well as some of the other crews he says that he will now almost have a full compliment on board the Ghost.  The captured hunters will work for him just as they had done for his brother because he has promised a dollar for every pelt to his original hunters.  The new additional hunters will hope for the same thing.
