Caffeine is an inorganic chemical substance found in many plants. Now it can also be manufactured synthetically.

Synthetic is present in small quantities in common beverages such as coffee and tea.

Taken in small quantities it acts as stimulant. In ancient time, tea was drank by Buddhist monk to overcome sleep. The caffeine achieves this stimulating effect by speeding up blood circulation. However, it can also cause headaches and digestive disorders, particularly when taken in larger quantities.

Caffeine is also used as medicine for stimulating heart and nervous system. Also it helps to recover from depression caused by alcohol, opium and some other drugs.
