    Chemical properties don't occur, they just exist.  Water can be broken down into Hydrogen and Oxygen gas through electrolysis, that is running an electrical current through water and collecting the gasses.

    Hydrogen bonds with the oxygen atoms have to be broken and this takes energy.

    The following video shows  electroylsis, even if they can spell equipment.
