-The rhinos wallow in mud protecting from bugs and the intensity of the sun.  It also helps to cool them and they are capable of sun burning.

-The rhino’s feet are thick because it serves to give them balance and protection.

- The white rhino’s scientific name is Ceratotherium simum.

- The rhino can move up to 40-55 miles per hour when alarmed or angry.  However it can not maintain this speed for a longtime.

- The female white rhino reproduces once every two to five years.  It carries the calf for about 1 1/2 years.  It gives birth to one calf.

- The northern white rhino resides in North Zaire

.- The rhino horn is made up of hair like material called keratin.

- The white rhino is actually gray just like the black rhino.  The most significant difference has to do with its lip shape.  The white rhino has a squared lip while the black rhino has a pointed lip.  The reason for the difference is related to the foods eaten by the rhinos.  White rhinos tend to walk with their heads low to the ground when they eat.
