Rolled Up Surfaces are using two start entities. They are open (lines, arcs, open polylines, etc. .) Or closed (circles, ellipses, closed polylines ), but should be used as pairs in the same category. In the limit, whichever may be a point. Start entities can be 2D or 3D, placed anywhere in space.
The command of generation of rolled up surfaces in AutoCAD, is RULESURF, SURFTAB = 32. Generated surfaces can be flat open space and open or closed (eg a tube that connects the two circles that are in mutually perpendicular planes).
Note: Selection of the entity should be made to the same end as to obtain a uniform surface! Density of surface facets generated (number of vertex) is controlled by two variables of system SURFTAB2 and SURFTAB1, associated to two topological orthogonal directions. At rolled up surfaces is used only Surftab1 variable,on the other direction are always considered two vertex.
