Your question was originally posted with the word "Which" instead of "What", which leads me to think there were choices given from which you had to choose. But there were no choices given, so I will answer in a more general sense. The simplest way to get a solid is to change state from a liquid or a gas. The way to induce the change is to lower the temperature. Think of the most common example of something that exists in all 3 states--water. In order to generate the solid (ice) from water or steam, you simply lower the temperature. Posted by lynn30k on Oct 17, 2009. |

My first response was to freeze (lower the temperature) of a liquid such as water. It is the simplest material I think you can work with to make a solid. If this was already used as an example in class maybe post again choices you had to work with or hopefully this will work. Posted by stahlerf55 on Oct 20, 2009. |

Depending on the material, or substance one would just need to lower the temperature. A good example would be water freezing into ice. Posted by lerie on Oct 26, 2009. |
