First woman to make five spaceflights and set American endurance record for time spent in space on a single mission: Shannon W. Lucid—June 17, 1985; October 18, 1989; August 2, 1991; October 18, 1993; and March 23, 1996. On her final flight she spent 188 days aboard the Russian space station Mir.
