The sun is, on average, 92,955,630 miles (149,597,870 kilometers) from Earth. That distance has been designated an astronomical unit (AU) and is used as a standard for measuring distances to other bodies in the solar systern. If a bridge to the sun existed, it would take 177 years, driving at a constant 60 miles per hour (97 kilometers per hour), to get there.
