Why is seven considered by some to be a magical number?
All numbers possess certain properties and energies, according to magical lore and mysticism. Seven is believed to be a number of great power and magic, and to possess psychic powers. It is widely held to be a lucky number, especially in matters of love and money.
The supposed power of the number seven originates in the lunar cycle, since each of the moon's four phases lasts about seven days. The ancient Sumerians (inhabitants of an area that's part of present-day Iraq) based their calendar on the moon. They assigned seven days to each week and declared the seventh day of each week to be sacred.
