Science Fact Finder | General Science and Technology - What Is A Jackalope?

What is a jackalope?

The myth of the "jackalope" is an elaborate hoax played on unsuspecting tourists in the Western United States. The jackalope is said to be a rare, nearly extinct, antlered species of rabbit. Pictures of the jackalope abound and stuffed specimens of the creature can sometimes be found on display, especially in bars. The "creature" is in fact a stuffed jackrabbit with a pair of horns or antlers glued onto its head.
