Science Fact Finder | Chemistry and Physics - What Is "Stp"?

What is "STP"?

The abbreviation STP is often used for standard temperature and pressure. As a matter of convenience, scientists have chosen a specific temperature and pressure as standards for comparing gas volumes. The standard temperature is 0° Celsius (320 Fahrenheit or 2730 Kelvin) and the standard pressure is 760 torr (29.92 inches or 1 atmosphere).
