How many motor vehicles are registered in the United States?

In 1994, there were approximately 195,469,000 motor vehicles registered in the United States. Of this total, 147,171,000 were automobiles and 48,298,000 were trucks and buses. Worldwide, in 1993 there were 617,087,061 motor vehicles registered, 469,460,221 of which were passenger cars.
