Keep tadpoles, as well as frog eggs, in water at all times. Change half the volume of water no more than once a week.
The best diet is probably baby cereal that has a high protein content, fresh green leafy vegetables, and bits of egg yolk. Provide a rock island when the legs of the tadpoles appear.
A 5-gallon (19 liters) tank is sufficient for a half dozen tadpoles. When they mature (lose their tails and grow legs) they should be released in a pond or on the shore of a lake.
