Space Observations - Mountains on the Moon
Peer through the right telescope on Earth and it is possible to view something in space that is a billion light years away—just one light year is about 5,865,696,000,000 miles (9,460,800,000,000 kilometers)! The telescope was the first groundbreaking tool used in astronomy. With the telescope, astronomers could study the motions of celestial objects that were previously undetectable.
