You are probably familiar with the life cycle of the frog, which begins with a tadpole. You may have seen tadpoles in a pond or stream. An aquatic animal with a tail, the tadpole not only grows as it gets older, it also changes its form, growing legs, living at least partly on land, and losing its tail. While tadpoles eat tiny aquatic vegetation, adult frogs eat just about any small animal that flies, jumps, or crawls past and can fit in their mouths.
