How to Select a Topic Relating to this Concept

Gravity is a force of nature that can be examined and studied in many different ways. Pretend to be Newton and make observations about what happens around you. Notice common events. Why does a coin fall through water more slowly than through air? Is gravity the same in water as it is in air? The study of gravity will lead you into other areas of physics such as friction, buoyant force, and acceleration.

Steps in the Scientific Method

To do an original experiment, you need to plan carefully and think things through. Otherwise, you might not be sure what question you are answering, what you are or should be measuring, or what your findings prove or disprove.
