The man who discovered lift
In the eighteenth century, Daniel Bernoulli (1700–1782)—a Swiss mathematician, botanist, and anatomist—discovered that force arises from differences in pressure as objects move through a gas or liquid. Bernoulli's discovery later was used to explain what gives birds their liftUpward force on the wings of an aircraft created by differences in air pressure on top of and underneath the wings., or ability to glide without falling.
