Purpose/Hypothesis

In this experiment, you will mix water with iodine and then add mineral oil to see whether a chemical reaction occurs. Remember the possible signs of a chemical reaction: the production or absorption of heat or light energy, smoke, bubbles of gas, a smell, a sound, and a change in color.
