Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship Program-West Virginia
(Four Year College, Two Year College, University, Vocational/Occupational/Scholarship)
Purpose: For West Virginia residents who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement. Must be a graduating high school senior. May apply for renewal consideration for a total of four years of assistance. For full-time study only. Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

Higher Education Adult Part-time Student Grant Program

Purpose: Program to assist needy adult students to continue their education on a part-time basis. Also has a component in which 25% of the funding may be utilized for students enrolled in workforce and skill development programs. Promise Scholarship
(Four Year College, Two Year College, University/Scholarship)
Purpose: Renewable award for West Virginia residents. Minimum 3.0 GPA, ACT composite of 21, with 19 on each subtest, and combined SAT score of 1000, with no less than 470 verbal and 460 math. Provides full tuition scholarship to a state college or university in West Virginia or an equivalent scholarship to an in-state private college. Financial resources are not a factor. Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

Underwood-Smith Teacher Scholarship Program
(Four Year College, University/Scholarship)
Purpose: For West Virginia residents at West Virginia institutions pursuing teaching careers. Must have a 3.25 GPA after completion of two years of course work. Must teach two years in West Virginia public schools for each year the award is received. Recipients will be required to sign an agreement acknowledging an understanding of the program's requirements and their willingness to repay the award if appropriate teaching service is not rendered. Focus: Education Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

Purpose: For students attending West Virginia institutions full-time pursuing a career in engineering, science, or technology. Must have a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Must work in the fields of engineering, science, or technology in West Virginia one year for each year the award is received. Focus: Science, Technology, and Society; Electrical Engineering/Electronics; Engineering/Technology; Engineering-Related Technologies Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.
