Buena M. Chesshir Memorial Women's Educational Scholarship
(Four Year College, Two Year College, University/Scholarship)
Purpose: One-time award assists mature women seeking to complete or enhance their education. Its purposes are helping women who are employed or seeking employment, increasing the number of women qualified for promotion, and helping women achieve economic self-sufficiency. Award may be used for tuition, fees, books, transportation, living expenses, or dependent care. Must be a Virginia resident and studying in Virginia. Qualif.: Applicant must be: age 25 or older, female. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

Purpose: This scholarship is offered to women pursuing postsecondary job-oriented career education, offering training in business, trade and industrial occupations (not to be used for education leading to a bachelor's or higher degree). This award may be used for tuition, fees, books, transportation, living expenses, or dependent care. Must be a Virginia resident studying in Virginia. Qualif.: Applicant must be: female. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

Purpose: One-time award offered to women completing a bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree within two years who are majoring in actuarial science, biology, bio-engineering, chemistry, computer science, dentistry, engineering, mathematics, medicine, physics or similar field. The award may be used for tuition, fees, books, transportation, living expenses, or dependent care. Must be a Virginia resident studying in Virginia. Focus: Science, Technology, and Society; Biology; Computer Science/Data Processing; Dental Health/Services; Physical Sciences and Math; Engineering/Technology; Health and Medical Sciences Qualif.: Applicant must be: age 18 or older, female. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

Nettie Tucker Yowell Scholarship
(Four Year College, University/Scholarship)
Purpose: One-time award offered to Virginia high school seniors who have been accepted for enrollment as freshmen in a Virginia college or university for the fall semester following graduation. Scholarship recipients must attend a Virginia college or university to receive funds, which are disbursed directly to the college or university. Minimum 3.0 GPA required. Qualif.: High school students considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.
