Union Plus Scholarship Program

(Four Year College, Two Year College, University, Vocational/Occupational/Scholarship)

Purpose: One-time cash award for AFL-CIO union members, their spouses, or dependent children. Based upon academic achievement, character, leadership, career goals, social awareness, and financial need. Must be from Canada or U.S. including Puerto Rico. Members must download application from Web site http://www.unionplus.org. Applications are available from September 1 to January 15. Qualif.: High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

Funds Avail.: Minimum no. of awards: 110. Maximum no. of awards: 130. Minimum award amount: $500. Maximum award amount: $4000. No. and Amount Awarded Last Calendar Year: 101 scholarship(s), totalling $150,000. To Apply: Required: application form; transcript; test scores; financial need analysis; essay; reference(s).
