New Play Development
(Postgraduate/Prize)
Purpose: Prize of $1000 awarded to winning playwright. Winning play produced as part of Unicorn Theatre's next regular season. Submit non-musical, issue-oriented, thought-provoking play set in contemporary (post 1950's) times. Cast limit of 10 actors. Scripts must be original, unpublished, unproduced, typed, and bound. Include cover letter, bio, synopsis, complete character breakdown, and SASE with submission. Response time is four to eight months. Scripts accepted on an ongoing basis; no specific deadline. Qualif.: High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.
