Stony-Wold Herbert Fund Direct Service Grants

(Four Year College, University/Grant)

Purpose: Direct Service Grants provide financial assistance to students with respiratory ailments and are intending to help complete their education and become self-sustaining, independent members of the community. Grants are available to any student with a pulmonary problem who lives or goes to school in the greater New York City area (within 50 mile radius), is at least 16 years old, can demonstrate financial need and otherwise meet Stony Wold's qualifications. Individual grants, averaging $250 per month, are awarded for a maximum of four years to approximately 25 to 30 students enrolled in either academic or technical training programs. Qualif.: Applicant must be: age 16 or older, full-time student. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

Stony-Wold Herbert Fund Research Grant and Training Fellowship Program

(Four Year College, Postgraduate, University/Grant)

Purpose: The Research Grant and Training Fellowship Program provides funding for the clinical investigation of respiratory diseases and promotes the training of teachers, scientific researchers, and clinicians in the pulmonary field. The Fund designates approximately $200,000 annually to support individual projects focusing on lung disease. Funds are limited to the New York City Metro area (50 miles radius of NYC). Research Grants are available for all basic disciplines which relate to respiratory diseases as well as for clinical investigation. Fellowships promote the training of teachers, scientific investigators, and clinicians in the field of lung disease. Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.
