State Medical Education Board/Georgia Loan Repayment Program

(Postgraduate/Loan)

Purpose: Loan program to repay medical education debts. Participants must practice in underserved areas in Georgia. Loan of $25,000 per year for two years, may be renewed for two additional years, to four-year maximum. Minimum two-year repayment. Must submit disclosure of debt. Deadlines: quarterly, on 15th day of first month. Focus: Health and Medical Sciences Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

State Medical Education Board Scholarship Program

(Postgraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: Service repayable scholarship maximum of $20,000 per year for four years available to Georgia residents enrolled in U.S. medical school who display financial need. Repay by practicing medicine in rural Georgia one year for each year that loan is received. Service payment begins upon completion of residency training. Focus: Health and Medical Sciences Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.
